2007 Worlds Allocation of places
Hi, all. For any of you interested in your NCA's chances of getting additional spots in Stage 1, I looked over the allocation of places http://www.ycpr.net/actualites/index.php this morning and made a list of priority for any spots that may be left available after the initial part of Stage 1, where an allocated spot is not taken. The order is:
1-nzl, 2-nzl, 3-irl, 4-fin, 5-nzl, 6-usa, 7-rsa, 8-rsa, 9-rsa, 10-cro, 11-cro, 12-fra, 13-rsa, 14-rsa, 15-rsa, 16-ger, 17-usa, 18-esp, 19-fra.
For instance: for New Zealand to send a 5th skipper, there must be 1 spot declined from the allocations currently listed. For Finland to send a 3rd skipper, there must be 4 spots declined from the allocations currently listed.
If I have figured this out wrong, please don't hesitate to correct me.
Has the ESC sent out their guest invitations yet? If so, who, and what kind of response has been received?
I also noticed Japan is not included in Stage 1. What happened?

First off, I would like to edit to be sure everyone knows I am not on the ESC, and these are simply my own findings and should not be taken as "official". I do believe they are accurate though.OC44 wrote:Hello Steve,
Could you explain your calculation?
Following IOM CCR's: 8.6(i)=1 place, 8.6(ii)=40 places, 8.6(iii)=4 places, 8.6(iv)=10 places. Then, starting with Pos. 1, AUS in the '05 worlds placing, adding places to each NCA until each NCA reaches 8 max, or 76 as total entries allowed. Those are the guaranteed positions for each NCA. Your NCA may get more, but it is no longer in your hands. Other NCA's must decline their allotted positions.
The 76th entry for '07 was allotted to NZL for the 25th placing of the '05 worlds, which takes you through place 25 in the '05 worlds standings. With finish place positions 26,27,and 28 being AUS and GBR, and both of those NCA's having reached their maximum allotments to 8, they are done until Stage 2 (we won't get to Stage 2).
Should an NCA or ESC guest not take their max allotments, the next open spot will go to NZL in accordance with the '05 worlds placing #29.That is where my list begins.

Thanks for that Bruce.Bruce Andersen wrote:JPN does not have a NCA, which explains why they were not included in the allocations. The ESC has received 3 applications for their guest spots which will be awarded during Stage 1. Any skipper not represented by a NCA should feel free to forward an official application directly to the ESC.
I thought they did, they're always there!

Hello, Simon.simonc94 wrote:Where do I find the allocation of places per NCA for Stage1?
Interesting, it was here , but now its gone. I remember that RSA had 2 guaranteed in Stage 1, and as the list below shows, close to the top for additional spots.
Anyone care to comment why it's gone?
