thanks peter. i am looking at a cockatoo at http://gbmy.com/mirage.html , at http://www.cmyachts.co.uk/ , and of course at http://members.optusnet.com.au/~jeffrey ... /index.htm . it never occured to me the several variants were made.

Ed,the boats that you are looking at all have the original deck,oval on the fore deck, this boat here has on a completley different deck alltogether,i have only popped a tape on it briefly and it's about 3 mm less on the max beam.When it returns from Dallas i'll have a closer look at it. The difference is that the cockatoo extreme is allot narrower and helps in very light winds ..i am waiting for mine should be here in june hopefully . i have jeffs last yr model which i got in may here are some pics

you will find a quote from Jeff stating that the Extreme is something else than the Cockatoo...

Ok the boat is back,it's an updated Cockatoo carrying the Extreme deck changes are minor in overall beam measurement,as stated the Extreme is a different hull again being narrow,funny enough it showed good light air speed at the USA nats,but by my understanding was intended for heavy air,that's also strange considering that the proven TS2 relies on her beam for stability when it blows.Regards Peter
