Hi
I have been using Sailsetc Head fitting 23-100 as my upper limit band. I vaguely remember it as an intepretation from some time back allowing this to be the band.
I would appreciate your assistance in confriming this for me.
Kind regards
Paul Schnider

IOM-CR 30 March 2012
F.3 MAST
F.3.2 CONSTRUCTION
(c) Limit marks may be applied by the following means:
(3) fittings.
F.3.4 DIMENSIONS
Limit mark width . . . . . min 3 mm . . . . . max 10 mm
ERR 2009-2012
PART 2 – DEFINITIONS
Section C – General Definitions
C.4.8 Limit Mark
A clearly visible mark of a single colour, contrasting to the part(s) on which it is placed,
indicating a measurement point.
The thing that gets to me is when the black head fitting is installed on a black anodized mast.
Black on black does not seem contrasting to me. Last time I saw this while doing a measurement,
I made the skippers use a white marker on the head fitting, even though it was contrasting in material type.
Paul,
Does your fitting contract to the part(s) on which it is placed?
Does it fall within the dimensions?

Hi Jerry
Thank you for your reply.
The mast in question are standard anodized groovy mast from Sailsetc. So in short - YES - They contrast. The masthead fitting is 3mm min.
Regards
Paul
