How to adjust Hitec HS725BB winch servo rotations?

Post by TWallius » 09 Dec 2003, 10:57

Howto adjust Hitec HS725BB winch servo rotations? Now servo rotates 3 3/4 turns but what i need is much less about 1 3/4. With new computer radios this is not a problem, but in low budget standard 2 channel radio this is an issue.

I find necessary changes for the radio (http://www.rcsailing.gr/tech/tech-winch_turns-eng.htm), but i need my radios for another applications too, so this dosen't help me much. Any suggestions?

Here is a simple but crude looking solution.

Cut a piece of light ply to fit into the pot housing. Trim the "horizon" of the piece to limit the stroke of the pot arm to the required amount.

Tape the piece to the pot so that you can remove it easily when you want the TX for other applications

HI

I am not electronic nerd, but I think I somewhere on the some thing about this. The problem is that I can not remember where, sorry. :?:

What I do remember is that the tehnic that is used, is very similare to that is done to the Tx. So you can do the same to the servo, insert 2 resistors inline with the pot.
The size of the resistors you will have to find your self, because I have never tried it myself, but I have been told it should work.

I will let you know if I find the site where I found it.

I found this on Ken Binks' site at http://www.kbits.co.uk/:
K.Bits.. Web site wrote:Hitec adjustable Drum Winch HS-725BB
Price : GBP 54
Catalogue #: WH.005

- Torque 14.5 Kg/cm
- Speed 1.13sec/360 deg
- 6.0 volt
- Throw adjustment: modified by KBits.. to give 1.5 - 4 turns

Ken modifies the winch to add a variable resistor on a fly-lead, so you can set the number of turns you want.
