I use LiPo's most volts for the least weight,i did'nt doubt you when you posted the weight but i'm suprized they are as light as a 850mah lipo.Capasity affects weight in all the different chemistries we use.Peter

Regards to LIPO weight, I have noticed that the Hobby King quoted weight is heavier than it actually turns out to be. Also the plugs as supplied are pretty heavy. I changed the plugs on my LIPO's to deans micros, hence I get an all up weight for a 1300mah 7.4 LIPO of 79 grammes

Regards

Simon

HK usually states two weights on the spec sheet one is shipping weight.Deans micros will work fine but some say it's easy to short the batt with the exposed pins so be aware of that.

Hi all,
I'm using LiPo in boat and Tx. Have been doing so since 2004. Currently in my Mad Max I have 2300mAh 125g pack. This lasts more than a days sailing. At the end of a full day this pack is still around 7.5 Volts. This boat started out with 1500 mAh pack and so lead corrector weights were glued in to suit the weight of this pack. I was able to remove a bit of lead to accommodate the heavier pack but would like to have replaced all the lead with LiPo. That would have meant over 3000mAh. I don't see the point in keeping battery weight down only to have to glue in Lead. Put that required weight correction into battery life is my current way of thinking.

Hey Rob,

I hear if you use a RMG winch the battery usage goes way down. I use a 1300mah LiPo and can sail all day, up to 15 races, and use around 500mah. The battery weighs 74grams and cost about $7.00 US.

I use a 850mah and sail from 2.30-5pm most of the time they wind up at 3.85v per cell which is perfect storage voltage,so i need not even put them back on the charger for a storage charge .I like the lead in the bottom of the boat. :D

For some years I've been using LiFe batteries. Why? Somehow scared by the hazards of LiPo's http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=719116 but still in the need of a system able to deliver Amps without surgeproblems with demanding servo's.
Just now I've been using a H....king divice named Zippy 1100 for almost a year. Fully charged 30 min. 65 g. After 4 h still 20-30% left (Top B conditions last outing)
Price from HK german Warehouse ca 5 USD
